So I'm watching BBQ Pitmasters. I'm actually not entirely sure why. I mean, we watched it last season and I remember it being much more entertaining. This time it seems to be a lot of here's the meat you're cooking *reveal* yay! Then the competitors talking about cooking the meat, rubbing the meat, manhandling the meat, yep, we're still cooking it, still cooking, oh! now we're ... nope we're still cooking. And the judges eat the meat and announce a winner.

But that's all beside the point because the funny thing is seeing the names of these BBQ places and their t-shirts. One of them had a t-shirt that said "This product is most definitely tested on animals." LOL I hated that guy, but he's in GA and I'm tempted to buy his shirt just for that.

Gah!

My husband is out right now buying us a new TV. A flatscreen, LCD 40" wide very pretty one with a new stand to match. His father, at the end of their visit, gave us $500 for a new TV. I guess he got tired of watching our 26" CRT model that we've had since college. Without his seed money, we'd have kept that TV until it died. But since it still works, and only has one area of a slight greenish cast that we joke is where the lead coating has dissolved we'll sell it in the neighborhood garage sale.

I anticipate much ooohing and aahing and TV watching after it's set up and all. Pictures forthcoming.

And I'm not sure I like where this season is going. Did they need that big of a shake-up? I don't think so. But it's interesting and could provide some unique storylines.
wolffe: (baby got back)
Where is Mary Murphy this season? Because as much as I like Mia Michaels choreography, I can't stand her as a judge. I want the screaming hot tamale train back.

I just finished watching the season finale of Human Target. I really hope it gets picked up for a 2nd season. It's a bit campy, but I like it. And I found it really fun that Lee Majors (looking rather good, by the way) was in the episode since Jason and I have talked about what a great 6 mil $ man Mark Valley would make.

My only complaint spoilers )

I love the Olympics. If you're like Mom and I and had visions of rocking a moose hat from the opening ceremonies we're out of luck. Mom wrote Ralph Lauren and they basically said they had no idea they'd be so popular and they aren't making any more. I bet some knockoffs turn up somewhere. If you see one, point it my way. Or maybe one of my knitter friends would like to take a stab at doing something similar? It'd make a great Mother's Day gift for Mom.

I watched Australia today. What a strange movie. I had to stop it a lot to take the dog out, change the child, get the child juice, take the dog out, etc. I had no idea it was almost 3 hours long. It was good. I guess. Nothing to get too excited about. I expected a love story, not a tale about the Aboriginal struggle. Heartbreaking, but with a fuzzy ending. Or was it a story about Australian cattle stations? Or maybe about the attack on Darwin by the Japanese? It didn't have a focus really, which made it seem so strange.

Next on the Netflix queue is the sci-fi Sunshine.

I'm so glad I waited until I was PMSing and highly emotional to watch the Dollhouse series finale. I guess I needed a good cry anyway. Sheesh.

Anyone and everyone isn't safe from being killed off in your series. You can stop with the shock killing spree now.

Also, I love being a "people against dirty." Today's mail included Method's new laundry detergent. Super concentrated and green are all well and good, but I had a moment of domestic goddess glee when I saw the new bottle. It has a pump. Absolutely brilliant! No more icky measuring caps. Seriously, I was doing laundry today and that nasty cap was the bane of my existence.

Now if they'll just make fabric softener the same way... course, I don't think fabric softener is green. Not even sure it can be made green.

One of my green goals is to have all of my cleaning products be either method or homemade. I know I sound like a commercial but I really do love that stuff.

Stayed up way too late last night catching up on all the Dollhouse episodes I'd missed. 6 or 7 ... I can't remember. All the 2 parter ones, up to this past week's. And OMG.

OMG OMG OMG

The twists and turns! This show just gets better and better, which Joss shows usually do. Sounds like they won't be back for a 3rd season though.

The Farscape complete series DVDs are $57.99 on Amazon right now, so if you've thought about getting them do it now. I got them. :D I couldn't pass up the discount, plus with the $50 gift card I earned from MyPoints, it's only 8 bucks! WOOT!

Now I guess I can sell the starburst editions I have.

Okay Nickelodeon, what the hell? First you bombard us with commercials for the Jumparounds who suddenly and mysteriously become the Fresh Beat Band* now you've changed Noggin to Nick Jr. I liked Noggin. Nick Jr is stupid.

*Since Jake liked their songs in the commercial I thought what the hell, I'll watch it. My eyes bled. There are claw marks in the wall from where I tried to flee the stupid. Even the cats and dog left the room.
