I'm running Ubuntu 9.10. I LOVE IT. OMG, seriously, this OS rocks. It's smokin' fast and it just works. <3

More questions from the question meme, this time from [livejournal.com profile] heinous_bitca

1) Is there anything you miss by not working outside of your home?

Not one single thing. I thought about it too, but nope. I just wasn't built to work outside the home.

2) (stealing this from the one I asked Marz) Were you always a crafty person? Say even in high school, did you have the urge to make/craft/work on something, or is this a newly-acquired habit?

I've always been this way. I used to draw more, and actually considered a fine art degree at one point but decided I really wanted to be a Marine Biologist. When that didn't pan out (turns out I'm not so good with the chemistry) I fell back on art, in a way and got an English degree. My family are all very artistic in one way or another though. My Mom is a painter/illustrator, my brother is a musician and I'm the writer. Writing is actually my love but I don't have the time or head space for it right now. So I sew and take pictures. :)

3) We both have equestrian backgrounds. Wish you still actively rode? Will you teach Jake to ride?

Every single day I wish I was riding. *sigh* I live now in an area that has a lot of barns, and the board is very reasonable at some but even then I don't have the money to support Zane up here. I haven't ridden since I got pregnant for one reason or another but I miss it greatly. I keep my ears open for an instructor I can take lessons with, but haven't found one who teaches the style I prefer and whom I can afford. Jake has already been on the back of a horse. ;) If he wants to learn, I will certainly teach him. I would love it if at least one of my kids shared that passion with me, but I won't push it.

4) Do you think you'll be back in WoW for Cataclysm? What do you miss most about playing?

Yes, I'll be back. I can't resist the lure of playing Worgen. One of the things that made me hesitant about putting Ubuntu on my laptop was whether I would be able to play WoW. We researched it and yes, it runs very well. :D And I just got an email from Blizzard giving me 10 free days of WotLK. I'm debating whether to use it or just wait for Cataclysm. I miss you guys the most. Remembering the social interaction during the halcyon days of DotA still makes me smile. It'll never be the same of course, since that core group is scattered over several servers now, but it's still fun. The map of Azeroth (pre burning crusade) is framed on the wall in front of my computer. :)

5) (also stealing this from something I asked others!) I'm coming to visit you! What will your Southern Hospitality show me?

Oh my. Lots. I will ply you with sweet tea and Cracker Barrel biscuits with sawmill gravy. You will be amazed at how Southerners fry everything (even peanuts). It's mostly about the food down here. ;) I can show you towns that revolve around the summer strawberry festival or the fall pig roast.
