Weekend from hell is still ongoing. We spent ALL DAY Saturday shopping for a new couch. Finally got one at 7:30pm. Won't be here until the end of the month, but it's big and comfortable and awesome. We also got a coffee table and an end table. I think once I recover the rose colored chairs, that'll be it for furniture in the living room. The couch is so big that I think it'll look fine with nothing else in there.
Sunday I started the process of rearranging the computer room/bewhiskered studio to accommodate a new worktable/fabric storage system for me. That way I'm not cutting fabric on the dining room table. Plus it'll be right there where I sew so YAY. It's going to be awesome. But the work table is big (3' x 5') and it was like a game of Tetris trying to make everything fit and look halfway decent. I was about to give up but then Jason came up with a plan that's actually quite nice. He always was good at Tetris.
I wish I had funds left to get another nice, 4 shelf bookcase. That would eliminate 2 of the little ones. But that's not in the budget right now. Need to sell a few more Ruggles.
Anyway, I'm mostly done with that but I have A LOT of fabric and books.
In other news, while I've been dealing with my back issues, Mom has also been in a lot of back pain. She thought it was a result of her own bad discs, but then she felt a lump. Turns out it's a synovial cyst that is sitting near her spine and pressing on nerves. It's not cancerous or anything, but obviously quite painful and it has to come out. She's going to try to wait to have the surgery until I can come for spring break. In the meantime, I'm going to be busting my butt trying to get my current custom order backlog done and shipped so I can go earlier.
Back to organizing and moving stuff!
ETA: OH AND I stayed up until almost 1am organizing and trying to get the Wanderer's Festival turtle* and then Erik woke me up at 5am. FIVE IN THE MORNING. *iz ded*
*showed up 10 minutes before midnight (so 8:50 PST) and stayed until 12:45. No festival. Now I'm wondering if "standard time" means no daylight savings, so I should've gone at 1am. That's ... going to be rough.
