See that space between Jake and Erik and above Pilsbury? That's where I slept for about half of last night. This amount of space it typical for me whether we're in Jake's bed or mine and Jason's. Only when we're in our bed, Lokai joins in as well. *sigh*

We went to the zoo today and had a good time. Sort of. It was stupid crowded with school groups making it really not fun for me. But Jake had a blast. Especially with the petting zoo and the playground. I'm not sure he was super keen on seeing the animals. He was excited to see the tiger before we got there, but of course the tiger was barely visible through the bamboo forest. I was trying to decide between a Botanical Gardens and a Zoo pass, but I think I'll go with the Botanical Gardens. And maybe the aquarium. Everyone I know with an annual pass to the aquarium has loved it and I really like that place myself.

I'm just not good with crowds. Jake is pretty good about staying close by, but it still makes me nervous as hell when he wants to get out of the stroller and walk when there's a ton of people. Not to mention it was hard just to get up to see the animals, and we missed seeing the cloud leopard altogether. I might give it another shot sometime over the summer. If for no other reason than to get more/better photographs. The lion and the sun bear were both asleep, so that was kind of a bummer.

Anyway, here are a few shots from today (with a few more on flickr):

Jake fell in love with this goat, and had quite the conversation with it. I wish I could've heard what he was saying, but I missed it. He's giving it a hug here.

Jake and Evan checking out the flamingos.

I like rhinos.

But the otters are my favorite.

This was one of those duck on a spring things, and Jake had a blast on it.

Driving the school bus.

I got Lori to take a picture of all three of us. :D

This would be the "snowman" which ended up being more snow tower. The snow was so dry you couldn't get it to stick together well, so they ended up just making a big pile.

The aftermath of playing in the snow yesterday.

Pilsbury wasn't very happy about the height of the snow.

Jason and Jake playing. I stayed in the garage mostly. LOL

Just showing the depth of the snow.

Jason got a video of a Lexus trying to get out today. After lots of people drove around yesterday and packed the snow down, the roads are pretty much one big sheet of ice. The Lexus did make it, but forward motion was accomplished going sideways. LOL

I'm getting a bit worried now, since it's not melting as fast as I expected, and tonight's low is 20* and it's not supposed to get above freezing again until Friday. We have plenty of food and won't lose power or heat or anything, but you know, the whole baby thing. I'm pretty sure an ambulance could get in and out but they'd probably take me to the nearest hospital. Not a huge tragedy, but still not ideal. Bah. I can't really worry about it. I am taking it easy though.

It's way too hard to find something to do outdoors here other than going to the park or zoo. It's too pretty to be inside today, but I'm afraid it's too late to head out to the zoo. We wouldn't get there until 10. But I dunno, that's probably what I'm going to do. Hmmm... what to do... what to do...

My other option is to go to the Grower's Outlet and get flowers for the front yard. Fun for me, and sort of fun for Jake. Maybe I'll do that today and then go to the zoo on Wednesday or something. I wish there was a local farm we could just go hang out at.

No good way to get the whole thing, but that's my incredibly messy pantry.

These were incredibly hard to get. He absolutely won't sit still anymore. Haha!
