wolffe: (hello there!)
Reposted from [livejournal.com profile] harnessphoto who reposted it from [livejournal.com profile] slobberpuppy:

"I've seen it more than a few times this month - people missing the days when LJ was a more active place. It's always nice to share interactions with like-minded folk, and I often find that reading other people's words help give insight into my own life. We are all connected, afterall!

Therefore, I am going to put forth an idea I have been brewing on for some time: The Great LJ Friends Swap! Basically, if there are two (or three, or four, or more...) active folks on your friends list - people who will participate in one anothers' journals - that you think should be connected, then why not suggest such and make the introductions between them? I would be happy to connect anyone who replies to this post with other LJ users whom I think would make a good match, and by virtue of posting this, I am requesting the same - feel free to connect me to people who you think would enjoy our interactions and sharing of ideas.

Feel free to spread this like wildfire if you so desire. The Great LJ Friends Swap has begun!"

If you are interested in being shared or being connected, comment here. Of course, I'd love some new friends of my own if you can think of them! Alternately, post a blurb about yourself in the comments so like-minded people can find you (and read the comments for the vice versa effect).

How brilliant is this idea? LJ's not dead, I've seen that with my own eyes. I just think the population has shrunk, and the groups of interconnected people have become cut off from each other. Let's reunite them and widen circles! Get those friends feeds full again!

See that space between Jake and Erik and above Pilsbury? That's where I slept for about half of last night. This amount of space it typical for me whether we're in Jake's bed or mine and Jason's. Only when we're in our bed, Lokai joins in as well. *sigh*

We went to the zoo today and had a good time. Sort of. It was stupid crowded with school groups making it really not fun for me. But Jake had a blast. Especially with the petting zoo and the playground. I'm not sure he was super keen on seeing the animals. He was excited to see the tiger before we got there, but of course the tiger was barely visible through the bamboo forest. I was trying to decide between a Botanical Gardens and a Zoo pass, but I think I'll go with the Botanical Gardens. And maybe the aquarium. Everyone I know with an annual pass to the aquarium has loved it and I really like that place myself.

I'm just not good with crowds. Jake is pretty good about staying close by, but it still makes me nervous as hell when he wants to get out of the stroller and walk when there's a ton of people. Not to mention it was hard just to get up to see the animals, and we missed seeing the cloud leopard altogether. I might give it another shot sometime over the summer. If for no other reason than to get more/better photographs. The lion and the sun bear were both asleep, so that was kind of a bummer.

Anyway, here are a few shots from today (with a few more on flickr):

Jake fell in love with this goat, and had quite the conversation with it. I wish I could've heard what he was saying, but I missed it. He's giving it a hug here.

Jake and Evan checking out the flamingos.

I like rhinos.

But the otters are my favorite.

This was one of those duck on a spring things, and Jake had a blast on it.

Driving the school bus.

I got Lori to take a picture of all three of us. :D

Have you guys seen [livejournal.com profile] mellusions frog beads? Because they're awesome. I love this little guy in the cauldron: http://www.etsy.com/listing/57926227/frogs-brew-lampwork-bead

And just as a reminder, my birthday's coming up and I'm doing an Etsy Halloween find of the day on my Tumblr of things I would dearly love. ;)

BPAL is going to have a brick and mortar presence in Atlanta. I know some of you are crazy about the stuff, and I don't mind making a special trip if there's something you can't live without so if you want me to get you any smelly stuffs and send it to you, let me know. Here's the details:

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab is an etailer of wonderful perfume oils. You can see their site here:

http://www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com

Once a month, around the full moon, the Lab has a brick and mortar presence in Atlanta, known as Will Call, where one can test the perfume oils, purchase many of them, and meet others who are also into BPAL. :)

The Georgia Will Call will be at Whole Foods Market, aka Harry's Farmer's Market, in Roswell, GA. They will be holding Will Call on Sunday, June 27th from 5 to 8 pm, inside Salud (which is inside the store.) Whole Foods Market is located at 1180 Upper Hembree Road, Roswell, GA, 30076.

Whole Foods accepts Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express and cash. They will not be able to accept any pre-orders. The blends that will be available for purchase include those that went live on the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab website up to and including the Lotus Moon update. Forum only scents will not be available at Will Call.

They were quick, professional and courteous. Love Nalley Roofing. Now we need to paint the house. I may go a shade lighter or darker and I want to paint the shutters black. Or maybe dark, dark green to try to tone down the red brick. Jake and Zach had a great time watching them work. And the new roof looks fabulous.

And just for fun I took some pictures at Beckie's* house Monday morning. She adopted a Golden Retriever over the holidays. :)
