In researching time management tips and whatnot I came across a pretty good website about the subject. Their first step is to do a simple exercise. Grab a sheet of paper and draw a line down the middle. On one side, list the 5 most important things to you. On the other, list the 5 things you spend the most time on. Order doesn't matter, just jot them down.

For me, it was an eye opener. I mean, I already knew I was out of balance but wow. Now the challenge will be to get them more in line.

I'm calling mine pretty well aligned. I mean, yes, watching TV and playing on the the computer occupy a huge chink of my time, but on the other side of the line is me, and my mental well-being, and since I enjoy those things...

And why does everyone try to get you to wake up earlier?! They say you're "at your best" then, but that's not true for everyone! Even if I get plenty of sleep, I'm slow, sluggish, and generally unmotivated for several hours after I wake up. I've tried.and tried, I am just not a morning person!

I've been trying to cut back on the tv and computer a bit (having my laptop not working for almost 2 weeks certainly helped).

Two weeks ago I cleaned out and reorganized the coat closet and the cleaning/pet/misc closet, and this week I spent time doing a serious cleaning of the wood floors in my house.

I do need to get better about spending less time on screens and more doing the necessary everyday cleaning
