On the way home from Birmingham today, after a stop at the gas station I forgot to buckle Jake's car seat. He told me as we were on the interstate on ramp, so I quickly pulled over to buckle him in. I told him I was sorry I forgot, and thanked him for telling me so quickly so he could stay safe.

He laughed and said "It's okay. You're just a naughty Mommy."

A few months ago, I forgot to buckle Dria into her car seat and she kindly told us about halfway home. I kinda like that these kids are getting old enough to remind us of these things...

I've done it two or three times now. But always after he was old enough to tell me. Probably cuz I'm getting older and forgetful! LOL

I did the same thing with Adam when he was in daycare last year. He told me within half a block and I thanked him and told him to remind me if I ever forgot again.

Now I have him buckle himself though I do assist with pulling the seatbelt out so he has enough length for him to easily handle it.

I think everyone is a naughty Mommy at some point. :D

Jake would be able to buckle himself in if he hadn't gotten raspberry gunk down in the seatbelt receiver so it's all hard and sticky. :P

And I'm a naughty Mommy for far more reasons than that. LOL
